Dental bleaching

Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry. Bleaching whitens the teeth by one to two shades beyond the natural color. Commonly available methods are bleaching gel, and laser bleaching.

Teeth whitening has become the most requested procedure in cosmetic dentistry today.

Bleaching methods use carbamide peroxide which reacts with water to form hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide oxidizing agent penetrates the micro porosities of enamel and breaks down stain deposits in the dentin. office bleaching generally done using light to accelerate the process of bleaching in a dental clinic.



OFFICE BLEACH is done in a dental clinic which uses higher concentration of bleaching agent and is activated using an ultra violet light source.


HOME BLEACH needs a specially made trays for bleaching agent which patient has to wear it for certain amount of time as described by manufacturer at home. the concentration of this agent is less than that of office bleach.
